HILLSIDE COTTAGE is
located between Union Hall and Glandore,
about one half mile from Union Hall village. It enjoys panoramic views of Glandore harbour
and Keelbeg pier. Glandore harbour is a haven for sailing, water-skiing, windsurfing and
fishing. It is home to a commercial fishing fleet as well as home to a fleet of Dragon
sailing dinghies.
Every weekend you can watch the Dragon
fleet race in and around the harbour. Scuba diving and snorkeling
provide even more
alternatives for the athletic among you. A wide choice of angling activities can be
enjoyed locally. For the pike man, Lough Cluhir, about a mile from the village centre
offers excellent facilities and access. Sea angling can be arranged locally with boat
owners. The Blue Shark grounds, off High Island are barely 3 miles from Carrigillihy
Harbour. Angling off the shore during the Mackerel season is good sport and very popular.
